Why Do We Watch Reality Dating Shows?

This question is fairly simple, yet the answer is complicated in my opinion. It first started with Flavor Flav and his ugly behind. The reason I watched it is because it was something fairly new. Then came “Flavor of Love 2,” “I Love New York,” “I Love New York 2,” “Flavor of Love 3,” and “Rock of Love” seasons 1, 2, and 3. Somehow Tila Tequila got two seasons, the Real and Chance brothers got two seasons, and now Ray J is on his second season! So now can somebody tell me why we watch these shows? While we try and figure this out, I am off to watch the first episode of “For the Love of Ray J” which comes on in a few minutes.
